Bangladesh University of Professionals is administered and governed by the armed forces of Bangladesh. The main objective of the establishment of Bangladesh University of Professionals was to provide the best education to the students coming from different backgrounds.
This university is one of the youngest universities in the country. To expand the knowledge in the field of technology, national security, and modern science, to achieve the desired human resources development of the country, is the main aim of the university.

Establishment of a university for the armed forces educational and training institutes was a long felt need. National security, war strategy, medical, engineering and technology related to higher studies are in high demand at present. To keep pace and to be at par with the fast developing world, the national higher studies, research enabling modern knowledge and creating scope for education and studies are the obligations to be fulfilled. In order to expand and integrate the existing educational and training institutes of the armed forces, they were needed to be brought under a single umbrella or authority. Thereby, the establishment of “Bangladesh University of Professionals,” (BUP) took place in that process and came in to being as 31st public university of Bangladesh on 05 June 2008. BUP is a unique public university run by the armed forces with upholding the motto “EXCELLENCE THROUGH KNOWLEDGE”. The youngest university is confident in furthering the knowledge in the field of national security, technology and modern science to achieve the desired human resources development of the country.
It is a unique public university established in 2008 with the motto “Excellence Through Knowledge” providing high quality education to both civil and military students. The University provides a tranquil, pollution free, secured campus life and above all, an uninterrupted and congenial academic atmosphere. Besides its fifty-six well reputed affiliated colleges/institutes, the university has six faculties namely Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Faculty of Science & Technology (FST), Faculty of Medical Studies (FMS) and Faculty of Business and Social Science (FBSS). Moreover, MPhil and Doctoral programmes are continuing under the Centre for Higher Studies and Research (CHSR) along with various language courses under the Centre for Modern Languages (CML).
Mission is to produce scientifically trained, socially responsible, compassionate doctors and instill in them a spirit of inquiry and learning, to contribute to the body of knowledge in medicine and allied fields in a meaningful manner, and to help serve the immediate and long term medical and social needs of our society.

Hostel & Accommodation

Eligibility for Admission
Students should follow the below-given eligibility criteria to get admission to Bangladesh University of Professionals to pursue MBBS:
- The candidate must be over 17 and below 25 years old on or before the date in which the admission is being taken.
- The applicant should have secured at least 60% aggregate in all the above-mentioned subjects in 10+2 and 40% if the applicant falls under the category SC/ST/OBC.
- The applicant must clear the NEET exam as it is mandatory for students coming from India.
- The candidate should be a high-school graduate or he/she must hold an equivalent degree with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as subjects.
- It is mandatory for the applicants to clear both IELTS and TOEFL exams.
Admission Process:
- You should fill in the Application form available online.
- Then, he/she should send the filled-in Application together with the copies of the documents, necessary for the acquisition of the student’s status.
- After receiving the application, the university will arrange a Skype interview with the applicant, to confirm that the potential students meet all the necessary admission requirements and then only they will send a conditional offer letter.
- The applicant should pay the initial tuition fee, after receiving a conditional offer letter. Then the university will send a Fee Acknowledgement letter after this.
- Students should then fulfill the necessary procedures for granting student visas.
